The resort offers basic, budget-friendly accommodation with a swimming pool and easy access to local eateries.
The beach next to the resort is beautiful for walking and enjoying the sunrise, but swimming was strongly not recommended due to strong currents.

Culturally, Terengganu has a lot in common with its northern neighbour, Kelantan, but the cultural and historical differences between the two states make Kelantan interesting and well worth including in your trip to Terengganu. A bus ride from Kuala Terengganu to Kota Bharu lasts only about three hours.

TERENGGANU : KUALA BERANG & MARANG

HJ ZULHEIMY MAAMOR
22 JUNE 2024

Our trip this time is to Kuala Berang, Marang, Kuala Terengganu and Setiu in Terengganu. Our purpose there is for the Heart Disease Health Screening program at the following places:

1. 16 July 2017 - SJK (Cina) Chung Hwa, Wakaf Tapai, Marang, Terengganu
2. 17 July 2017 - MSU College Kuala Terengganu
3. 18 July 2017 - University College Bestari, Setiu, Terengganu

This time, I will focus solely on Kuala Berang and Marang because I have already written about Kuala Terengganu and Setiu.

15 JULY 2017
KUALA BERANG, TERENGGANU
Kuala Berang is the largest town of Hulu Terengganu District. The town serves as a gateway to Lake Kenyir. The Historical Terengganu Inscription Stone was found near Kuala Berang in 1899. The town Kuala Berang was the first of the modern Sultanate of Terengganu before moving to Kuala Terengganu.
There is no program in Kuala Berang, only a night stopover before departing for Marang the next day.

TERENGGANU INSCRIPTION STONE

The journey from our Office in Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Berang is 407 km and takes 4 hours 14 minutes.
We stopped at two rest stops, namely the R&R Temerloh, Pahang and the R&R Perasing Rest Stop, Terengganu. I wrote about these two rest stops in the last blog about Temerloh and Kuala Terengganu.

Before going to the Hotel in Kuala Berang, we stopped to pray at the Asy-Syakirin Mosque in Kuala Ping, Kuala Berang. We stayed at AJ Hotel located at Batu 24 Kuala Berang, Terengganu.

In the evening we had dinner at a warung located next to the hotel we were staying.

Early the next morning, before leaving for Marang, we had breakfast at Warung Kak Zah which is located opposite to our hotel.

After breakfast, we continue our journey to SJK (Cina) Chung Hwa which is located in Wakaf Tapai, Marang, Terengganu. The distance between Kuala Berang and Marang is 12.9 km and the journey takes only 16 minutes.

After the program at SJK (Chinese) Chong Hwa Wakaf Tapai, we continued our journey to Kuala Terengganu and Setiu for the next program.
(Refer to my previous blog on Kuala Terengganu and Setiu)

Although Kuala Berang is a small town, it has many popular attractions including Hutan Lipur Sekayu, Kenyir Water Park and Padang Majlis Daerah Hulu Terengganu... perfect for a trip!

While Marang, among the polular attractions include the Pulau Kapas, Taman Rekreasi Pulau Kekabu, Masjid Sultanah Nur Zahirah etc..

Enjoy your trip to Kuala Berang and Marang....
