CAPPADOCIA, TURKIYE
Cappadocia, a mesmerizing region in central Turkiye, is known for its distinctive "fairy chimneys", tall, cone shaped rock formations clustered in Monks Valley, Goreme and elsewhere. 








Goreme Kaya Hotel brings comfort to its guests with its natural rock, stone and arch rooms in its location in the heart of Cappadocia. 

After breakfast, the group left for Ankara, which is the capital of Turkey. Ankara is the second largest city after Istanbul.
The journey from Cappadocia to Ankara takes 3 hours and 30 minutes, covering a travel distance of 309 km.


ANKARA, TURKEY
Ankara historically known as Ancyra and Angora, is the capital of Turkiye. Located in the central part of Anatolia, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk moved the capital from Istanbul to Ankara in 1923. 




ATATÜRK MAUSOLEUM
The group was then taken to visit Atatürk Mausoleum in Çankaya, Ankara. Here is the tomb of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the leader of the Turkish War of Independence and also the first President of Turkey after the fall of the Ottoman Turkish Caliphate.
Anitkabir is a complex located in Cankaya, Ankara which includes the Mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. Design by Emin Onat and Orhan Arda, the construction of Anitkabir began in 1944 and was completed in 1953. 













TUZ GOLU SALT LAKE, TURKIYE
Tuz Golu Salt Lake was the second largest lake in Turkiye with its 1,665 km surface area and one of the largest hypersaline lake in the world.








After the visit to Ankara, the group continued its journey to Bolu, a district located in the northwest of Turkey. The journey from Ankara to Bolu takes 2 hours and 53 minutes, covering a travel distance of 216 km. 

BOLU, TURKIYE
Bolu was part of the Hittite Kingdom, which ruled around 2000 BC. Later, it became the main city of the Kingdom of Bithynia (279 BC - 79 BC). During the time of the Ancient Roman Empire, the city was known as Claudiopolis, named after Emperor Claudius.

After breakfast at the hotel, the group was taken for a tour around the city of Cappadocia.

UNDERGROUND CITY OF KAYMAKLI
This underground troglodyte cave city was excavated as early as the Hittite period and is connected by tunnels, linking one underground city to another. It is said that there are over 100 underground tunnels here.
An intricate system of tunnels, chambers and galleries has been excavated deep into the volcanic turf rock at Kaymakli Underground City. There are eight floors in the city, although only four are accessible to the general public today. The Underground city can hold up to 3,000 people and is over 85 meters deep. 

This place was opened in 1964 and was previously known as Enegup.








GEROME OPEN MUSEUM
The Gerome Open Museum, located in Nevsehir, Turkey, is the ruins of the 4th century. Among the ruins found here are the remains of monasteries, churches, and houses carved into soft volcanic rock.

It is only a 15-minute walk (1.5km, 1 mile) from Gerome Village Culture. It contains stone carvings from churches, with beautiful frescoes in colors that still retain their original freshness. The museum also exhibits unique examples of stone architecture and fresco techniques. The Goreme Open Air Museum has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984 and is one of the first two UNESCO heritage sites in Turkey.

Most of the churches found here were built in the 10th, 11th, and 12th centuries.














PASABAG VALLEY & UCHISAR VILLAGE
Pasabag Valley is located approximately 3 km north of Gerome. It is a most popular spots in Gerome, Cappadocia. Pasabag Valley is also known as "Monk Valley" because Christian priests used to seek refuge and seek God's pleasure here.
Uchisar village, located in Uchisar Belediyesi / Nevsehir, is a troglodyte village where the locals carve rocks to make their homes.


















KAPADOKYA SERAMIK / VENESSA SERAMIK
Cappadocia is known for beautiful handmade and hand-painted ceramics. It is an ancient Turkish art. Kapadokya Seramik is a family owned business. It is a quite large location with much to choose from. While Venessa Seramik is a long-established ceramic family of Avanos.
