GENTING HIGHLAND

Genting Highlands is a hill station located on the peak of Mount Ulu Kali in the Titiwangsa Mountain, at 1800 metres elevation. Located in the State of Pahang, it was established in 1985 by the late Malaysian businessman, the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong. 

Genting Highlands is famous for its pleasant climate, cleaner air, posh resorts and dense forests.Some of the prime attractions here are Skyway Cable Car Ride, Resorts World Genting, Arena of Stars, Gohtong Jaya, Skytropolis Theme Park, Genging Highlands Theme Park and Snow Park. 

The first time I went to Genting Highlands was in the 1970s with my family. After that I never went to Genting Highlands until 2001 when I attended a meeting at Genting View Resort while working with The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia. 

To reach Genting Highlands from my office in Petaling Jaya, it takes 1 hour and 5 minutes and covers a distance of 60.5 km.

FEBRUARY 2001 - GENTING VIEW RESORT

Surrounded by lust green rainforest, Genting View Resort is strategically placed in the midland hills of Genting Highlands. Located up above 900 m altitude high in the West's Malaysia Main Range, the resort offers a lovely cool mountain breeze with fresh air in abundance featuring a tranquil environment for a serene stay.

25 - 27 MAY 2002 - AWANA GOLF AND COUNTRY RESORT

On May 25-27, 2002, The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia held an 'IEM ISO Training' at Awana Golf and Country Resort for the Management and the staffs. 

The ISO Training is to help the Institution to reach and maintain a high level of quality and ISO Standards. ISO stand for International Organisation for Standardisation certification. 

Implementing an ISO 9001 system is known to improve organisational performance, increase customer satisfaction and loyalty, reduce cost etc..

Genting Highlands near the border of Selangor, about 56 km from the city of Kuala Lumpur, it is an integrated resort development, best known for its thrilling entertainment and cool climate. 

Whether it is worth visiting depends on your personal preferences and what you are looking for experience. If you enjoy entertainment, cooler weather and scenic views, Genting Highlands can be a fun and unique destinations to explore. 

Gohtong Jaya is a service township of Genting Highlands named after the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong, the founder of Genting Group and Genting Highlands itself. It is a good place to stop for food on the way to and from Genting Highlands. For those on road trips to Genting Highlands, a stopover for food at Gontong Jaya is highly recommended. It is just 5 km before Resorts World Genting, located on the peak.

PAHANG - CAMERON HIGHLAND

CAMERON HIGHLAND, PAHANG

Cameron Highland is a district in Pahang, its boundary touches that of Kelantan to the west, it shares part of is border with Perak. Cameron Highland was discovered in 1885 by Sir William Cameron, an English Surveyor on a mapping expedition but failed to mark his discovery. However, the area was named after him. 

There are 3 main districts in Cameron Highland, namely Ringlet, the main agricultural area comprising fruits and vegetables farms, Tanah Rata,  the principal township where the chalets, cottages, bungalows, hotel and restaurants are located, and Brinchang, which boasts several hotels, resorts and an 18-hole golf course. 

Cameron Highland is accessbible via Simpang Pulai or Tapah using the North-South Expressway.

I arrived in Cameron Highland for the first time on 21 March 2018, while attending the Program Coordination meeting in Kg. Pos Brooke Lama, Gua Musang, Kelantan.

On 11 August 2018 a Health Screening program was held at Kg Pos Brooke Lama, Gua Musang, Kelantan. During this program, we have been staying at Cameron Highland.

The distance between Kuala Lumpur and Cameron Highland is 209 km, and it takes 3 hours 45 minutes to reach Cameron Highland.

The photo above is when my colleague Mohd Nasir and I attended the Program Coordination meeting in Gua Musang, Kelantan on 21 March 2018. We stayed at BB Inn in Cameron Highland.

We stayed at Perumahan Makmur (Cameron Makmur) during our Health Program at Kg. Pos Brooke Lama, Gua Musang, Kelantan on 11 August 2018. 

Guests are welcome to stay at Perumahan Makmur Cameron Jaya Apartment while visiting Cameron Highland. 

In Cameron Highland, black tea is the most popular variety of tea produced, followed by Oolong and green tea. 

The BOH Cameron Highland Tea is probably the most famous tea of the BOH Tea Plantations because with this tea the success story of Malaysia began. BOH Tea Plantation was founded by John Archibald Russels in the 1920s in Cameron Highland. 

Beside BOH Tea Plantation there are six others Top Tea Plantations in Cameron Highland, namely the Sungai Palas Tea Garden, Cameron Valley Tea House, Bharat Tea Plantation, Cameron Valley Tea House 2 and Ee Feng Gu Bee Farm. 

MARDI Agrotechnology Park is an agricultural Research Station at Tanah Rata, managed by Malaysian Agriculture Research and Development Institute (MARDI) and open to public. Within the 42-hectare expanse of the park, visitors may explore various flower gardens, crop houses, plant nurseries, farmlands and even a small tea plantations. Flowers, fruits and vegetables of temperate origin are mostly cultivated here. 

My Memories of Cameron Highland.....

I think that Cameron Highland is suitable for family trips, nature lovers, adventure seekers or person who want to explore Malaysia's hills. It is known for its stunning landscapes, including lush tea plantations, rolling hills and dense forest.
