MARAN, PAHANG

Maran is a town in Maran District of Pahang. Bandar Tun Razak, Jengka is located in the outskirt of the town. Surrounded by isolated forest and oil palms plantations main in the area of FELDA Jengka, Maran town is roughly halfway between Temerloh and Kuantan. Maran is also known as Bandar Ayam Kampung. 

Among the interesting places that can be visited in Maran are Sungai Berkelah and Lubuk Yu. Among the small towns found in the Maran district are Pekan Tajau, Pekan Awah, Pekan Chenor, and Pekan Sungai Jerik, which is also called Tong Kiat. Jengka town, which is the heart of the Jengka community, is also located in this Maran district.

The travel distance from our office in Kuala Lumpur to Hotel Sri Jaya, Maran, where we stayed, is 184 km, and the travel time is 2 hours and 3 minutes.

The East Coast Expressway has two exits serving Maran constituency Exit 825 to Maran and Exit 827 to Sri Jaya. 

I once prayed at this mosque while attending the Program Coordination meeting in Sri Jaya, Maran on 12 June 2013.

The Heart Disease Awareness Program in 2013 was conducted at the Sri Jaya JKKK Hall, Maran, Pahang. This program was in collaboration with The Lions Club of Kuantan with the help of 2 nurses from the Maran District Health Office.

A total of 137 residents of Sri Jaya underwent a one-day Health Screening Test.

When the Heart Disease Health program was carried out, the country was hit by haze due to forest fires in Indonesia.

It can be seen from the picture above that the haze was quite severe in the town of Sri Jaya, Maran at that time.

Maran is a small place in Malaysia and can be easily explored within a day. There aren't many things to do and attractions to visit in this town. Can check with tourism Pahang website of interesting places to visit in Pahang.

Chenor is a mukim in Maran, District, Pahang. It is formed from the aggregation of several villages namely, RPSB Bukit Kening, Kampung Kening, Kampung Batu Bor, Kampung Sekara, Kampung Baru, Kampung Huma Luas, Kampung Pesagi, Kampugn Chenor Seberang, Kampung Tebing Tembah and Kampung Nyak Kertau. 

I was in Chenor when I attended the Program Coordination meeting at the Chenor Health Clinic on 29 April 2014.

Bandar Tun Razak, Jengka formerly known as Pusat Bandar Jengka is an agricultural town in Maran District, Pahang. It is the centre of the Jengka Triangle which is known as FELDA Jengka. 

It takes two hours and five minutes to travel 162 km from our office in Kuala Lumpur to the Issoria Hotel in Jengka, Pahang, where we stayed.

6 OCTOBER 2013 - SUNGAI JERIK, BANDAR JENGKA, BANDAR TUN RAZAK, PAHANG

Sungai Jerik located between FELDA Jengka and Ulu Jempol, Bandar Jengka, Maran District, Pahang. It used to be known as Tongkiat Town after the name of a Chinese businessman, Ng Tiong Kiat (1892-1966) who opened a factory in the area. Inhabited by mostly Chinese.

It is said that most of the residents in Sg Jerik came from Sitiawan, Perak in the resettlement of new villages during the Malayan Emergency (1948-1960). They were moved because they were often harassed by communists who asked for food supplies....

The event that took place at Ladang Ng Tong Kiat, Sg Jerik in 1945—where the late Sultan Abu Bakar Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mu'adzam Shah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Abdullah Al-Mu'tasim Billah, the Sultan of Pahang—may not be well known to us. It took place from August 17, 1945, to September 9, 1945, and was made possible by His Majesty's authority, persistence, and efficiency in getting through extremely trying times. At the time, the tragedy stunned the people of Pahang.

Yayasan Jantung Malaysia, in collaboration with The Lions Club of Kuantan, organised a heart disease awareness campaign on October 6, 2013 at the Sungai Jerik JKKKB Hall, Jengka, Pahang.

A total of 124 residents of Sg. Jerik have attended the health screening test here. Also participating in this program are nurses from the Maran District Health Office and Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan, Kuantan.

Eye Check

Durian one of the most diverse food in the world, loved by some and hated by others. We were served with Sungai Jerik durian by Kuantan Lion Club members...Thank you Lion Club of Kuantan. 

Jengka is a small town in the State of Pahang. However, Jengka has plenty of activities to offer tourists. One of the most popular attractions in Jengka is the FELDA Residence Tekam Jerantut, a beautiful resort located in the middle of a lush rainforest. Enjoy a wide range of activities such as, jungle trekking, bird watching and river rafting. 

Another popular tourist destination in Jengka is the Baiti, a tradtitional Malay House that has been converted into Museum.
