TEMERLOH BANDAR IKAN PATIN

Temerloh, the city of catfish, formerly known as Kuala Semantan,located about 130 km from Kuala Lumpur along the Kuantan-Kuala Lumpur trunk road.Temerloh is the second largest urban area in Pahang after Kuantan, the state capital city. It is situated at the confluence of the Pahang and Semantan Rivers. 

I don't have much experience in the city of Temerloh except for having attended a Health Program Coordination meeting with the Temerloh District Youth Council at McDonald's, Temerloh on 27 October 2016.

Temerloh is famous for its catfish. The catfish is a native to the rivers of Pahang, particulartly in the town of Temerloh, which is where it got its name. The Temerloh catfish is a popular ingredient in many local dishes, and it is considered a delicacy by many Malaysians.

There are 4 types of Patin, namely, River Patin (P.Nasutus), Mucung Patin (Helicophagus waandersii), Champion Patin (P.micronemus) and Patin King. 

Temerloh has been rebranded as "Patin Fish Town/Silvercat fish Town" on April 16, 1999 by the then Culture, Art and Tourism Minister, Datuk Sabaruddin Chik. 

I had the opportunity to taste the very popular Gulai Tempoyak Ikan Patin in Temerloh, which is Pak Usop's Patin stall near Temerloh River on November 28, 2015. At that time, we had an event at Kg Bolok Hulu in Lanchang. We do not want to miss the opportunity to go to Temerloh, which is only 33 km from Lanchang.

R&R TEMERLOH

In the past, while working, I often traveled outstations throughout all the states in Malaysia, from Perlis to Sabah.

When we travel to the East Coast states, we always make a stop at R&R Temerloh because it's our favorite place for rest and relaxation.

Temerloh city holds a place in our memories. It has many popular attractions, including Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary, Kuala Gandah National Elephant Conservation Centre, Esplanade Temerloh etc. 

Visit the Pekan Sehari Temerloh, a weekly bazaar happened to be on Sunday held at Lurah Semantan from as early as 7.00 a.m until 1.00 p.m. 

Whenever you are in Temerloh, don't forget to eat Ikan Patin Masak Tempoyak and Chicken Rice at Temerloh Old Town.

PAHANG - MENTAKAB : MENTAKAB STAR MALL & TAMAN SAGA INDAH

Mentakab is a town, mukim in Temerloh District in central Pahang. It is 9 km northwest from downtown Temerloh and 82 km northeast from Kuala Lumpur. 

There have been two health programs run by the Malaysian Heart Foundation at Mentakab, namely:
1. Mentakab Heart Week at Mentakab Star Mall on November 1–9, 2014
2. Community Program at Taman Saga Indah, Mentakab, on November 13, 2016

1-9 NOVEMBER 2014 - MENTAKAB STAR MALL

The Mentakab Heart Week 2014 was held on 1-9 November 2014 at Mentakab Star Mall. I have lost the records about this program, so I don't really remember the number of people who came to do the health check.

13 NOVEMBER 2016 - TAMAN SAGA INDAH, MENTAKAB

The journey from Kuala Lumpur to Mentakab is 117 km long and takes 1 hour and 37 minutes.

The Community Program at Taman Saga Indah, Mentakab, Pahang is jointly organized by the Temerloh District Youth Council. A total of 83 residents of Taman Saga Indah underwent a health checkup test that day.

This program was officiated by Dato Norul Azali, Pahang State Health EXCO.

During the program in Mentakab, we stayed at EV World Hotel Mentakab, Kg Catin, Mentakab, Pahang.

What is Mentakab famous for?

Mentakab is famous for its inter-racial unity, the populations contains of people of diverse ethnic backgrounds and religious beliefs.

You can also do some window shopping at Mentakab Mall during your visit to Mentakab. While you're in the area, wander around the forests.

PAHANG - GAMBANG

GAMBANG, KUANTAN, PAHANG

Gambang is a town in Kuantan District, Pahang. It is located at a junction between Federal Route 2, MEC Highway (Federal Route 222) and Tun Razak Highway (Federal Route 12).

Gambang is also the location of the Universiti Malaysia Pahang campus (formerly KUKTem).

After the Community Program at SJK (Chinese) Chung Hwa Wei Sin in Kuala Terengganu on 22 July 2016, we continued our journey to Gambang, Pahang in the next program.

The journey from Kuala Terengganu to Gambang, Pahang takes 2 hours 26 minutes with a travel distance of 239 km.

During the program in Gambang, we stayed at the Gambang Selesa View hotel. The hotel is located at Jalan Bandar Gambang 3, Gambang, Pahang.

COMMUNITY PROGRAM

SJK (CINA) GAMBANG, PAHANG

24 JULY 2016

This Community Program at SJK (Chinese) Gambang, Pahang is jointly organized by the Lions Club of Kuantan. The Health Checkup test was attended by 108 nearby residents that day.

If you stop by Gambang, try the Chicken Chop at Restoran Hijau, Gambang.. you will not be disappointed.
