LUMUT, PERAK
20 SEPTEMBER 2013
On 20 September 2013, The Awareness Team Program Manager, Mr. Sallehudin Abdul Malik and I had attended the Program Coordination Meeting at AEON Seri Manjung, Bandar Seri Manjung, Perak.
The travel distance from Kuala Lumpur to Lumut is 214 km and the travel time is 2 hours 56 minutes.

We stayed at the Galaxy Inn, Jalan Sultan Idris, Lumut, Perak. A budget hotel that provides a clean and comfortable to travelers, either on business or on vacation in the vicinity of Lumut, Sitiawan and Manjung District.
Located in the main street of Lumut town, a gateway to Pulau Pangkor and within easy walking distance to amenities like Lumut Jetty Terminal, taxi stand, banks, laundry, restaurants, convenient shops, clinics, bus station etc.

LUMUT, PERAK
Lumut is a town that is familiar to me because I used to serve with the Royal Malaysian Navy based in Lumut in the 80s and 90s.
Lumut is a coastal town and a mukim of Manjung District, located 84 km from Ipoh and 12 km from Sitiawan. Lumut is a gateway to Pulau Pangkor before establihsed Marina Island Pangkor as second gateway.
The once little-known small fishing village, Lumut is now the home base for the Royal Malaysian Navy.

SITIAWAN, PERAK
19.9.2013
Sitiawan a mukim and town in Manjung District, Perak. The residents of Sitiawan are mostly Fuzhounese, a Chinese dialect group.
Sitiawan is famous for being the home of the late Chin Peng (Ong Boon Hua), the head of the notorious Communist Party in Malaysia.
Sitiawan is located just 11.9 km from the town of Lumut. We stopped for lunch at Sitiawan.

Wisma Ganda left a lot of memories for me because this is where I used to hang out with my friends while serving in the Navy in the 80's and 90's.
Wisma Ganda is now becoming quieter since the establishment of Bandar Seri Manjung. After lunch, I take the opportunity to spend a few minutes at Wisma Ganda, and it saddens me to see that only a few shops are still in operation.

That is part of my record of events and memories in Lumut and Sitiawan in 2013. Lumut has many popular attractions including City Mangrove Park, Pantai Teluk Batik, Teluk Muroh, Lumut waterfront etc.
Sitiawa too has many popular attractions such as Tua Pek Kong temple, LFS Sitiawan, Sitiawan Settlement Museum etc.

Please visit Lumut and Sitiawan for you family vacation...

During the British protectorate era, the name was change to Teluk Anson in honour of a British officer and last Lieutenant-Governor of Penang, Major General Sir Archibald Edward Harbord Anson
However, in 1982 the name was changed to Teluk Intan because in the past the place was called Teluk Mak Intan.

The Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan was built in 1885 under contractor Leong Choon Chong to store water during the dry season.
