CHINA - SILVER CAVE, GUILIN & BAMBOO UNLIMITED, YANGSHUO

SILVER CAVE, LIPU XIAN, GUILIN

Our next destination is Silver Cave, a limestone cave located in Maling town, Lipu Xian district, Guilin. It is approximately 85 km from Guilin and 18 km from Yangshuo. Silver Cave, also known as Yinzi Cave, is the largest karst cave in Guilin and is a prime example of a limestone cave that still exists in the world.

There is a legend that tells that during the Qing Dynasty, specifically during the reign of Emperor Kangxi, the rebel army who lost the battle made the Silver Cave their hiding place. There is a Chinese proverb that reads, "Anyone who has been to Silver Cave will never be short of money." Wallahualam.

The traders here can speak some Malay words because many Malaysians visit here.

To enter the Silver Cave, you must have good strength and health because you have to climb the high steps and walk at least 4 km. Considering the high steps, I decided not to climb the cave. Only my wife and sons continued to climb the steps to the cave. My mother-in-law and I were just waiting outside the cave.

The beautiful view will amaze every eye that sees it.. This is an unforgetttable experience ... the heart feels so calm when you can enjoy the beauty of nature created by the Almighty God.

After exploring Silver Cave, we continued our journey to our next destination, which is Bamboo Unlimited in Yangshuo.

BAMBOO UNLIMITED, YANGSHUO

For a tour package to China, there are three destinations that are compulsory stops set by the Chinese Government, namely the Bamboo Shop, Silk Fabric Processing Factory, and herbal shops owned by the government.

Residents in Yangshuo were able to benefit from the use of bamboo by making various products from it. Before this, I didn't even think there were clothes, underwear, and shoes made from bamboo. It can be said that many daily necessities are made from bamboo, including tissues, bath towels, bath soap, and many more.

For example, bamboo underwear, according to our tour guide Mr. Alex, underwear made from bamboo thread is very resistant and can even be worn for 3-4 days without being washed and does not leave a smell....we all thought in our heads...can we wear underwear for 3-4 days without washing it... hehe... it seems to Malaysians that if they buy it, they must wear it for 1 day and then wash it.....  haha

BAMBOO YARN

Some of the products that have been made from bamboo yarn are shoes. My wife and children each bought a pair of shoes made from bamboo yarn.

Bamboo is one of the strongest plants we know of,  and it can also bend without breaking. Bamboo is not only more durable and lighter than other materials like wood, but it is also eco-friendly and non-toxic, which offers a great advantage for many industries. 

After the tour, we boarded the bus to our next destination, which was Shangri-La Park.
