SELANGOR - SABAK BERNAM

Sabak Bernam is a district in the northwest part of Selangor, Malaysia, bordering the state of Perak to the north. It is situated close to Hulu Selangor and Kuala Selangor. The name "Sabak Bernam" is believed to mean "Six Friends" (Sahabat Berenam), as the district was established by six friends.

On 30 November 2024, the Lembaga Kebajikan Perempuan Islam Malaysia (LKPIM) Hulu Klang branch, of which my wife is a member, visited Sabak Bernam in Selangor.

The journey from Kuala Lumpur to Sabak Bernam takes approximately 1 hour and 58 minutes, covering a distance of 130 kilometers of the State of Selangor bordering the State of Perak to the North, close to Hulu Selangor and Kuala Selangor.

The problem was that the bus tires were stuck in a puddle, so we had to wait until nighttime to pull the bus out.

Laman Buluh Mentarang & Belangkas in Sungai Hj Dorani. The restaurant serves a variety of seafood and belangkas dishes in a beautiful and relaxing environment. Options include grilled fish, belangkas, eel, mentarang, and more.

Mentarang, scientifically known as "Pholas orientalis," is considered a natural treasure by residents and food vendors in the Sekinchan and Sabak Bernam districts.
This type of shellfish is edible and can be found exclusively on sandy beaches, such as those in Kuala Perlis and Sabak Bernam. Mentarang is typically prepared by baking or frying it in flour.

Have you ever eaten belangkas?
Some people are amused when they see belangkas, let alone eat it. But they haven't tried it yet. The taste of belangkas is said to be more delicious than most other seafood dishes. The egg tastes fatty while the meat tastes chewy like crab. But before ordering, make sure to check the price first... Don't be surprised when you see the price. If you want to try it, you can try belangkas masak lemak chili api in Sekinchan or Sabak Bernam.

Discover the natural aroma of fragrant village rice produced by Syarikat Berkat Padi Sdn Bhd in Sabak Bernam. While the crop spans just 600 hectares of the 600,000 hectares available in Sawah Negara, this rice has received certification based on research conducted by MARDI.

Records indicate that this Boeing 727 aircraft was registered on June 18, 1981. In April 2022, it was transported by road over a distance of more than 400 kilometers from Senai Airport to its current location at Ban 3 Parit 5, Sekinchan, Selangor. The "Sekinchan Terminal" has since become a tourist attraction in the Sekinchan district.

Nandong Global Food Industries is a factory that produces food products made by Malay bumiputra from Sungai Besar, Selangor. The company offers five flavors of Nata De Coco: Lychee, Mango, Strawberry, Grape, and Green Apple. Additionally, they produce a special Pineapple flavor only during the holidays. You can find their products in major supermarkets such as Giant, Lotus, and Econsave.

Sabak Bernam is renowned for its stunning views of lush green rice fields that stretch endlessly. It is an ideal location for leisure activities with family and friends.

NEGERI SEMBILAN - PAROI

Paroi is a region in the Seremban District known for its housing estates and villages. It is home to several sports facilities, including the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, which is the state stadium.

During my time in Paroi, I worked with the Malaysian Heart Foundation, where I participated in conducting health checkups at various locations throughout the area.

On January 20, 2019, my wife, mother-in-law, and I left Jalan Kelang Lama in Kuala Lumpur to travel to Paroi, Negeri Sembilan, for the wedding of my wife's relative. The journey from Kuala Lumpur to Paroi takes approximately 1 hour and 31 minutes and covers a distance of 75 kilometers. The wedding ceremony took place at the Dewan Pusat Dakwah Islamiah N. Sembilan, located in Taman Desa Duranta, Negeri Sembilan.

I had the opportunity to meet Hj Azman Karim and his wife. We performed Hajj together in 2017.

My memories in Paroi are limited, mostly due to outside assignments I had while working there.
