NEGERI SEMBILAN - NILAI

Nilai is a city located in Seremban District, Negeri Sembilan, close to the border with Selangor. Nilai has become a popular shopping town with the establishment of several major shopping malls such as Nilai 3 Wholesale Centre, Nilai Square, AEON Mall, Mydin,Giant Hypermarket, Lotus's and Econsave.

On 1 December 2012, my family and my two sisters' families went to Nilai 3 to buy my nephew's wedding equipment.

The Nilai 3 Wholesale Market offers a variety of goods and clothes at reasonable prices. This market was first introduced in December 2001.

Nilai 3 can be reached via the North-South Expressway exit (Nilai/Pajam/KLIA) and also the LEKAS Expressway. The distance from Kuala Lumpur is 45 km.

To learn more about the history of Nilai, please refer to the Official Portal of the Nilai Municipal Council.

The distance between Nilai 3 and Kuala Lumpur is more than 44.5 km.

On our way back to Kuala Lumpur, we stopped for Zohor prayers at a mosque in Nilai, namely the Dato Klana Petra Putra Mosque, Nilai.

Community College Convocation Ceremony 2018
Dewan Tuanku Canselor
Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia
Nilai, N.Sembilan
6 October 2018
On 5 October 2018, after the dawn prayer, I along with my 2 sons Muhammad Redzwan and Muhammad Zulfadzly left for Bandar Baru Nilai for the Convocation ceremony of my son Muhammad Redzwan bin Zulheimy who had successfully completed the 2D Animation Certificate from Kuala Langat Community College.
My wife Hjh Norziah binti Ahmad was unable to attend my son's Convocation Ceremony because she was currently in New Zealand.

Bandar Baru Nilai is a new township in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. It is located in the Seremban district and under the administration of the Nilai Municipal Council (MPN).

The journey from my house in Lembah Keramat, Kuala Lumpur to Bandar Baru Nilai took only 51 minutes with a distance of only 55 km.
We went straight to Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia in Nilai for my son's Rehearsal event which started at 8 am.
Before that, we had breakfast at a Mamak restaurant not far from USIM.

Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), formerly known as Kolej Universiti Islam Malaysia (KUIM) is an Islamic University in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, fully owned and funded by the Malaysian government.
USIM was made a public university on 13 March 1998 and initially to be located at the former International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) campus in Petaling Jaya.
The University started operation in January 2000 at the National University of Malaysia at Bangi.
On 15 July 2005, the university moved to its permanent campus at Nilai. KUIM was officially upgraded to University status and renamed USIM on 1 February 2007.
USIM was officially opened on 25 November 2008 by the 5th Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato' Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi (now Tun).

After the Convocation Rehearsal event was over at around 1pm, my 2 sons and I went straight to our Hotel, the Nilai Hotel, which is located around 3km from USIM.
I decided to stay at the Hotel in Nilai because my son had to attend USIM the next day as early as 6.45am, so we didn't have to rush to leave before dawn if we were leaving from Kuala Lumpur.

Nilai Hotel today is N9 Business Hotel (2024)
