On 7 April 2012, Yayasan Jantung Malaysia held a Health Screening Program for heart disease at Dewan Sepak Takraw Pulau Pangkor, Perak.

The journey from our office in Kuala Lumpur to Lumut is 233 km and takes 3 hours and 24 minutes. Lumut is the gateway to Pulau Pangkor.
We have stayed at Blue Bay Resort located in Jalan Titi Panjang, Damar Laut, Lumut, Perak.

LUMUT, PERAK
Lumut is a town that is familiar to me because I used to serve with the Royal Malaysian Navy based in Lumut in the 80s and 90s.
Lumut is a coastal town and a mukim of Manjung District, located 84 km from Ipoh and 12 km from Sitiawan. Lumut is a gateway to Pulau Pangkor before establihsed Marina Island Pangkor as second gateway.
The once little-known small fishing village, Lumut is now the home base for the Royal Malaysian Navy.

LUMUT TO PULAU PANGKOR
7 APRIL 2012
We took an express boat from Lumut to Pangkor Island on April 7, 2012. The purpose of going to Pangkor Island was for the Heart Disease Health Screening program held at Dewan Sepak Takraw, Pangkor Island.

When heading to Pangkor Island, pass through Lumut Base Jetty (Naval Jetty), reminiscing about the days of serving with the Royal Malaysian Navy (1980 - 1996). It was at this pier that I began my journey to an uncertain destination, sailing across the vast ocean, carrying out patrol duties, and so on.

PULAU PANGKOR
7 APRIL 2012
Pangkor Island lies just off the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. It's known for beaches like Teluk Nipah, Coral Bay and Pasir Giam.
Historically, the Dutch in the 17th century built a fort to control the Perak tin trade, known as the Dutch Fort.
In 20 January 1874, it was the location of a historical treaty between the British Government and a contender for the Perak throne known as the Pangkor Treaty, which began the British colonial of the Malay Peninsula.

HEALTH SCREENING PROGRAM
7 APRIL 2012
This health screening was attended by 120 local residents. This program is a collaboration with Klinik Kesihatan Pulau Pangkor and the Seri Manjung District Health Office.

If you're considering an island gateway not far from Kuala Lumpur, this little slice of paradise is perfect for you. Not only Pangkor Island is famous for its relaxing ambience, but it is also known for its rich historical heritage.
No matter which option you choose, rest assured that the journey to Pulau Pangkor is well worth it

Located in the heart of the island is a 17th-century Dutch fort that stands proud and tall for visitors to explore. Back in the day, this fort was originally built to control Perak's tin trade.

WELLCOME TO LUMUT & PULAU PANGKOR!!
