DECEMBER 18, 2015 - VISIT MADINAH
Today the pilgrims are taken for a tour around the city of Madinah al Munawarrah. Among the places we visited were:

MASJID QUBA, MADINAH
The Quba Mosque was the first mosque built in Medina after the Prophet s.a.w migrated from Mecca to Medina. On Monday, 12 Rabiulawal (September 20, 622 AD), the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, together with Saidina Abu Bakar as Siddiq, arrived at the village of Bani Amru ibn Auf, 3 kilometers from the city of Medina, and built the first mosque in Medina. This mosque is mentioned in the Quran with the name Masjid At-Taqwa.
The Prophet s.a.w once said about this mosque:
"Whoever performs ablution at home and then visits the Quba Mosque, then performs the prayer, he will receive the same reward as the reward for performing the Umrah."
However, the present mosque is not the original mosque built by Rasulullah s.a.w. This new mosque is the result of the touch of Egyptian architect, Abdel Wahed El Wakil, which was completed in 1986.

MEDINAH DATE FARM
Then we were taken to visit the Bani Hasyim Date Farm in Medina. Dates have many benefits, especially Najwa Dates. It is called the Prophet's date because the Prophet s.a.w himself said when holding this date, "This is my date."

These Najwa dates are expensive; my sister bought them for me and Najwa Nabi's wife, which cost 80 Riyals per kilo.

JABAL UHUD, MADINAH
Jabal Uhud, which is located on Bukit Uhud approximately 16 km from the Quba Mosque, is where the battle of Uhud took place in the 3rd year of the Hijrah (corresponding to 625 AD) between the Muslims of Medina with 700 soldiers under the leadership of the Prophet s.a.w and the Makkah Quraysh Army of 3,000 soldiers led by Abu Sufyan, Khalid ibn Walid, and Ikrimah ibn Abu Jahl.
According to history, the Muslim army suffered defeat due to the disobedience of the Archer Army in obeying the instructions of the Prophet s.a.w, i.e., not leaving Bukit Rumat whether winning or losing on the order of Rasulullah s.a.w.
But after seeing the Mushyrikin army fleeing and leaving behind their war gear, this army of Archers came out of hiding and ran down the hill to take the spoils of war that were left behind. This is when the Quraysh Cavalry, under the leadership of Khalid ibn Walid (who was not yet Muslim at the time), attacked them. As a result, 70 Muslim soldiers were martyred, including the Prophet's uncle, Saidina Hamzah bin Abdul Muttalib.
From a hadith narrated by Anas bin Malik r.a., the Prophet s.a.w said, "Indeed, Uhud is a mountain that loves us, and we also love it." (HR Bukhari and Muslim)
Bukit Uhud is also one of the hills in heaven.

Considering that day was Friday, we did not have the opportunity to visit other historical places in Madinah. We only managed to pass by without stopping. Among the other historical places in Medina are the Qiblatain Mosque (2 Qibla Mosque), Mosque 7, Al-Ghamamah Mosque, and many more. We had to return to Masjid Nabawi to perform Friday prayers.

MASJID QIBLATAIN
Qiblatain Mosque means "Mosque with two qiblahs" is situated in Madinah. It is historically important for Muslims and the visitors to Madinah. This was the place where the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w leading the prayer, and he have been commanded by Almighty Allah (SWT) to change the direction of prayer (qibla) from Baitul Maqddis (Jerusalem) to Masjid Al-Haram (Mekkah).

MASJID 7 - THE SEVEN MOSQUE
They call it seven mosques (or Masjid al-Sa'ba) but are actually only six, as the Saudi Government demolished one. Situated in the valley of Mount Sala' , the history of these mosques are dates back to Hijra 5 when the Battle of Trench (The Battle of Khandaq) happened. The six masjids are build in the places where Muslims warriors stationed durng the battle.
The six mosques are :- Al-Fath mosque, Salman Al-Farisi mosque, Abu Bakar As-Siddiq mosque, Umar Al-Khattab mosque, Sa'ad bin Muaz mosque, Ali bin Abi Talib mosque and Fatimah Az-Zahra mosque.

MASJID AL-GHAMAMAH
Mosque of Al-Ghamamah is one of the oldest mosque in Madinah. , located in the place believed to be where the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w performed the Eid prayer in the year 631 AD. For a while, this mosque was closed for daily prayers because of its proximity to the Masjid Al-Nabawi.

19 DECEMBER 2015 - LAST DAY IN MADINAH
Today is our last day in Madinah and we will leave for Kuala Lumpur this evening. Before that, the pilgrims were advised to make a Ziarah Wida to the grave of Rasulullah s.a.w.

We departed for Kuala Lumpur from Prince Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz Airport in Madinah on Flynas XY 912 at 11.55pm and safely arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 1pm.

Indeed, this spiritual journey is very meaningful to me because God has answered my prayers all this time. I really wanted to set foot on the Holy Land before I close my eyes.... Thank you, God..... I really miss Mekkah and Madinah.... hopefully I can return for my Hajj... Ameen.

GOODBYE MEKKAH AND MADINAH
