WAI-O-TAPU THERMAL WONDERLAND

Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland is an active geothermal area in the southern at the southern end of the Okaitana Volcanic centre, just north of the Reporoa Caldera, in New Zealand's Taupo Volcanic Zone. It is 27 km south of Rotorua. 

LAKE TAUPO, WAIKATO, NEW ZEALAND

The journey from Rotorua to Waikato is 147 km and takes 1 hour 47 minutes. Lake Taupo is a large crater lake in New Zealand's North Island, located in the caldera of Taupo Volcano. The lake is the namesake of the town of Taupo, which sits on the bay in the lake's northeastern shore. 

Ending the tour for the day, the group was then taken to their accommodation in Taupo, which is the Courtney Motel.
