The second forum was titled "Hijab from the heart: A Sharing Session" by Catriona Ross, Sharifah Sofia & Dina Al Mashoor. They talked about their experiences wearing the hijab, some started wearing the hijab after a breakup, some only wore it to be a model, but then continued. Some started wearing the hijab after trying a shawl at a boutique and were open to wearing the hijab. Subhanallah, Allah is the One Who Gives Guidance. One of the speakers received great opposition from family and friends. Alhamdulillah, Allah strengthened his heart.
One of the core activities where non-Muslim women or those who did not wear the hijab were invited to try it on for a day. Volunteers helped participants style various types of headscarves to foster empathy and understanding.
If you strengthen your relationship with Allah, other (bad) thing does not mean anything to you. We are beautiful, Allah loves us. Spread more love, do more good.
The choice of Taman Tasik Titiwangsa was intentional—it provided a public, high-traffic space to show that the hijab is a part of everyday life in Malaysia. The 2014 event focused on the theme of "Peace and Understanding Through Knowledge," emphasizing that the hijab is a choice of empowerment and identity rather than oppression.
