MELAKA - LUBOK CHINA & LENDU (2019)

KD SEMIN, LUBOK CINA & LENDU, MELAKA

Since the termination of my service contract with the Malaysian Heart Foundation, I have rarely traveled, spending more time at home, especially after undergoing a Cardiac Bypass Surgery (CABG) at the National Heart Institute on March 23, 2019.

Only on the second Hari Raya of 2019, I accompanied my third sister and her son to celebrate Hari Raya in Kg. Semin, Lubok Cina, N. Sembilan to my brother's mother-in-law's house and also to Lendu for Hari Raya.

On the morning of June 6, 2019 (second Hari Raya), we continued our journey from Lembah Keramat, Kuala Lumpur to Lubok Cina, Negeri Sembilan.

The journey from Lembah Keramat, KL to Lubok Cina took 1 hour 30 minutes, 113 km. via the PLUS Highway exit at Pedas Linggi.

Lubok China is located in the Alor Gajah district, Melaka, bordering Negeri Sembilan, so it is not surprising that the residents of Lubok China in Melaka use the Negeri Sembilan dialect in their daily speech.

Kg. Semin is also the village of my wife Hjh Norziah Ahmad. Both my parents are also from Lubok China...my late father is from Kg. Nerambai, Lubok China, NS while my late mother is from Kg. Sungai Siput, Lubok China, Melaka.

The Lubok China Post Office building reminds me of the 70s, when I was still in Primary School. My late grandfather (Atok Yasin bin Kidam) once took me to this Post Office to collect his pension money as a former Police officer during the Emergency period.... we went to Lubok China Town by bus... this is the Post Office where my late grandfather used to collect his pension money... what I still remember is, after collecting his pension money, he would buy breakfast with roti canai and teh tarik at a stall where I can't remember the location.

From Kampong Semin, we set off towards Lendu, Melaka, which is to my sister's Son's Father in law house.

From Kg Semin to Lendu is only 23 km and takes 30 minutes to travel.

Lendu is a town in Melaka which is located under the parliament of Masjid Tanah.

Here is the location of Universiti Teknologi MARA Alor Gajah campus, Melaka.

From Lendu we continued our journey back to Kuala Lumpur......

FROM RAWANG TO MELAKA

On July 26, 2019, my wife and I, along with my sisters, spent the night at our nephew's house at M-Residence in Rawang, Selangor.

On July 27, 2019, we left for Lubok Cina in Melaka to attend our cousin's daughter's wedding.

The journey from Rawang in Selangor to Lubok Cina in Melaka is 148 km and takes 1 hour 50 minutes.

Lubok China Town, Melaka is rapidly developing.

Lubok Cina Town is a Mukim in Melaka under the administration of Alor Gajah District, Melaka.

Lubuk Cina is also the village of my late mother and father. My late father's village was in Kg. Nerambai, Lubok Cina, Negeri Sembilan while my late mother's village was in Kg. Sungai Siput, Lubok Cina, Melaka. So Lubok Cina is a district located in 2 states, namely Melaka and Negeri Sembilan.

We stopped by Bukit Senduk, Kg. Sungai Jernih, Lubok Cina, Melaka, to discuss hereditary land matters with out families.

After the discussion, we headed to our cousin's house to attend the wedding ceremony. Unfortunately, no memorable photos were taken during the wedding ceremony.

After the wedding ceremony, we continued our journey back to Rawang and then to Lembah Keramat, Kuala Lumpur
